Email Marketing: Your Secret Weapon for MLM Success

Did you know that e-mail marketing is one of the most powerful tools at your disposal when it comes to profiting from any MLM program?  Its easier to get started than you think, and will allow you to place the majority of your sales and network-building efforts on autopilot.

E-mail marketing allows you to:

  • Educate potential customers about your products
  • Educate potential downline members about the MLM opportunity, commission structure and profit potential
  • Build trust and credibility, with improved conversions over time. You aren’t limited to a 15 minute sales pitch.
  • Expand your business. New products and opportunities can be introduced to your existing list.
  • Put almost everything on autopilot. Today’s mailing list management software lets you schedule pre-written messages to go out when you want, in whatever order you want.

Are you beginning to see some of the power here?  E-mail marketing is still the most trusted and effective means of communication available to on-line businesses.

And it still trumps the latest tactics like audio and video…why?

Remember that not everyone has the computing capacity or the bandwidth to watch elaborate  multi-media presentations, but virtually all of the people you want to reach have basic e-mail.

If you aren’t yet using e-mail for your multi-level marketing program, here’s how you can get started right away:

First, get an autoresponder for managing your e-mail list.. There are plenty of good ones out there. Some of them come as software with a ‘one-time’ license fee. You install the software onto your own web server.

If you want someone else to do the dirty work, you can sign up with a third-party autoresponder service. These companies host autoresponder software on their own servers. Some companies offer free services,  but most will charge you a monthly subscription fee for an account.

Second step:  Create an “autoresponder series” for promoting your MLM. This is just a series of brief e-mails describing the products and the opportunity, with a focus on ’soft-selling’ the prospect.

Create messages that are educational, informational and of high-quality.  Each message should build on the other and move the prospect a little closer to taking the desired action.  There’s no limit on how many messages can go in a series.

You’ll load these messages into your autoresponder., and schedule them to go out as you see fit.  You can send one message per day, or put several days wait between each message. Its all up to you.

Finally, go into your autoresponder and have it generate the code for your opt-in form. You’ll cut and paste this code into your web page, and it will create a ’subscription box’ where visitors can submit their names and e-mail addresses to sign up for your list.

Make sure you give them plenty of incentive to opt-in. You’ll usually want to create a dedicated web page, called a “landing page”, designed to do just one thing:  get your visitors to join your list!

Once you have everything automated in this way, you can spend more of your time focused on driving traffic to your lead capture system and building your list.

After that?  Just sit back, relax and watch as e-mail marketing works its magic. You’ll never promote any other multi-level program without it!

How To Build Your Downline Fast In Any MLM Program

Massive success in any MLM program requires that you build a large ‘downline’ of motivated representatives. While you should always work steadily and consistently to recruit new people into your network, you also need to know how to build your downline fast.

This is especially true when you are just starting out. The number one reason most people fail to profit from legitimate network marketing opportunities is that they don’t know how to build their downline quickly enough. Your downline holds the key to your profits.

So, what is the quickest way to build your downline?

The fastest, most effective approach is to use the Internet to generate leads! In other words, you can combine on-line, direct-marketing tactics with any MLM program. All you need is a web site and a good e-mail lead capture program.

It sounds almost too easy, right?  Let’s take a look at the basic concept, then the steps involved, and you’ll see why this works.

The Basic Concept: On-line Recruitment is Easier

In the ‘old’ days of multi-level-marketing, you had to do a lot of footwork off-line. Selling products and recruiting new representatives required hunting down ‘leads’ wherever and however you could. Often, this meant trying to recruit friends or family, going door-to-door, hosting seminars, etc…

Doing it that way is a lot of hard work!

The Internet, however, completely revolutionizes the process of finding people who will be interested in your products, and in the business opportunity itself. This is because the Internet allows you to target the people who are already searching for a good multi-level program to join.

Also, because you’ll be following up with leads via e-mail, you get plenty of opportunity to persuade and convert them into active members of your team. You’ll even be able to educate them and keep them motivated so that they’ll build their downlines fast, too!

So, what are the steps in promoting an MLM the ‘direct-marketing’ way?

1    Get your own website address, and set up a ‘lead capture page’.

2    Send targeted traffic to that page.

3    Follow up with collected leads via autoresponder.

4    Track your ‘conversions’. You can create a separate e-mail list dedicated solely to members of your downline, and ask them to opt-in to it. Use this special downline-only list to teach your recruits how to set up their own lead capture pages.

The above four steps are at the heart of the method for building your downline as fast as possible.

Obviously, you’ll need to acquire certain skills – like building web pages, learning how to use an autoresponder, etc.. — if you don’t already have them. This is more than can be covered here, but you can find plenty of help on-line for free. Just go to your favorite search engine and do a search for “internet marketing forums”.

Make sure you get this whole process automated, and you can duplicate it for any MLM program you’re involved in!

5 skills for success

If you add these skills into your strategy for success and you’ll move forward quicker than you ever dreamed!

Hustle: generally, people who make it big have one thing in common—they are dissatisfied with the status quo. They will not take what is “common” or “expected” and let that define their lives—they move past it and excel. You must work hard and hustle.

Character: someone coined the phrase, “character is what you do in the dark.” In other words, when no one is looking, will you behave differently than if someone was looking? If not, then you have character. If you are attacked, be tough—not hard. Don’t be a pushover, but be compassionate, gentle, and flexible—especially on procedure (not principle).

Risk Taking: this isn’t gambling, it’s a willingness to be bold, hearty, and to push forward. People who refuse to take risks are definitely going to lose. If you refuse a new promotion because you’re not confident of your skills, you will likely be passed over when a different chance arrives.

Don’t be afraid of rejection, just take it as part of life and you’ll find there’s nothing to be afraid of—especially in the word “no.” “No” is just another opportunity to find a way around an obstacle and to use creative problem-solving skills.

Time Management: we all know that one minute has 60 seconds and that one hour has 60 minutes. One day has 24 hours, and one year has 365 days. But one year also has 525,600 minutes. We don’t think about a year in such small increments, but maybe we should. We waste minutes as if they’ll always be around, and the fact is that time wasted is time we can never get back. We might miss a deal or promotion of a lifetime by wasting just a few minutes.

Proper time management is essential as you climb to success. Continue to break goals down in to manageable chunks—do that with relation to your day and the time you’ve been given. You’ll accomplish far more this way and you won’t regret using your time wisely.

Master Non-Verbal Communication: it is said that our body language and facial expressions do much more communicating than our words will ever do. When the words that you speak don’t match the expressions on your face or the stance of your body, you confuse the listener and muddle your message.

Be aware that when you try to “multi-task,” you often end up short-changing something, and the last thing you want is to short-change people. Don’t try to do too much at once—your willingness to do this tells people they aren’t important, even if you’re expressing your appreciation of their work and effort. Be aware of what message your body is sending off!

Leadership Exposed - Things You Thought You Knew About Leadership

Much has been written about leadership: rules, pointers, styles, and biographies of inspiring leaders throughout world history. But there are certain leadership ideas that we ourselves fail to recognize and realize in the course of reading books. Here is a short list of things you thought you knew about leadership.

1. Leaders come in different flavors.

There are different types of leaders and you will probably encounter more than one type in your lifetime. Formal leaders are those we elect into positions or offices such as the senators, congressmen, and presidents of the local clubs. Informal leaders or those we look up to by virtue of their wisdom and experience such as in the case of the elders of a tribe, or our grandparents; or by virtue of their expertise and contribution on a given field such as Albert Einstein in the field of Theoretical Physics and Leonardo da Vinci in the field of the Arts. Both formal and informal leaders practice a combination of leadership styles.

  1. Lewin’s three basic leadership styles – authoritative, participative, and delegative
  2. Likert’s four leadership styles – exploitive authoritative, benevolent authoritative, consultative, and participative
  3. Goleman’s six emotional leadership styles - visionary, coaching, affiliative, democratic, pacesetting, and commanding.

2. Leadership is a process of becoming.

Although certain people seem to be born with innate leadership qualities, without the right environment and exposure, they may fail to develop their full potential. So like learning how to ride a bicycle, you can also learn how to become a leader and hone your leadership abilities. Knowledge on leadership theories and skills may be formally gained by enrolling in leadership seminars, workshops, and conferences. Daily interactions with people provide the opportunity to observe and practice leadership theories. Together, formal and informal learning will help you gain leadership attitudes, gain leadership insights, and thus furthering the cycle of learning. You do not become a leader in one day and just stop. Life-long learning is important in becoming a good leader for each day brings new experiences that put your knowledge, skills, and attitude to a test.

3. Leadership starts with you.

The best way to develop leadership qualities is to apply it to your own life. As an adage goes “action speaks louder than words.” Leaders are always in the limelight. Keep in mind that your credibility as a leader depends much on your actions: your interaction with your family, friends, and co-workers; your way of managing your personal and organizational responsibilities; and even the way you talk with the newspaper vendor across the street. Repeated actions become habits. Habits in turn form a person’s character. Steven Covey’s book entitled 7 Habits of Highly Effective People provides good insights on how you can achieve personal leadership.

4. Leadership is shared.

Leadership is not the sole responsibility of one person, but rather a shared responsibility among members of an emerging team. A leader belongs to a group. Each member has responsibilities to fulfill. Formal leadership positions are merely added responsibilities aside from their responsibilities as members of the team. Effective leadership requires members to do their share of work. Starting as a mere group of individuals, members and leaders work towards the formation of an effective team. In this light, social interaction plays a major role in leadership. To learn how to work together requires a great deal of trust between and among leaders and members of an emerging team. Trust is built upon actions and not merely on words. When mutual respect exists, trust is fostered and confidence is built.

5. Leadership styles depend on the situation.

How come dictatorship works for Singapore but not in the United States of America? Aside from culture, beliefs, value system, and form of government, the current situation of a nation also affects the leadership styles used by its formal leaders. There is no rule that only one style can be used. Most of the time, leaders employ a combination of leadership styles depending on the situation. In emergency situations such as periods of war and calamity, decision-making is a matter of life and death. Thus, a nation’s leader cannot afford to consult with all departments to arrive at crucial decisions. The case is of course different in times of peace and order—different sectors and other branches of government can freely interact and participate in governance. Another case in point is in leading organizations. When the staffs are highly motivated and competent, a combination of high delegative and moderate participative styles of leadership is most appropriate. But if the staffs have low competence and low commitment, a combination of high coaching, high supporting, and high directing behavior from organizational leaders is required.

Now that you are reminded of these things, keep in mind that there are always ideas that we think we already know; concepts we take for granted, but are actually the most useful insights on leadership.

Fantastic Offers on AutoResponders

I have changed my autoresponder service. I was using a free autoresponder, but such is the growth in my business that it was not able to cope with the numbers of leads that were flooding in.

I have been researching several different services, but I eventually went for EmailAces

The paid service starts at just $14.95 per month - which works out at aroun £7.50 if you are in the UK, and the options available are immense. Delivery percentages are extremely high. All in all, this seems to me to be the best out there.

 Check it out here

P.S. an unadvertised tip! If you want to try it out on a single autoresponder with a cap of 500 leads, go to the PPS at the very bottom of the page for a free autoresponder with all of the features fully functioning!

Network Marketing The Walt Disney Way!

Do you ever feel overwhelmed with all of the strategies you want to implement in your network marketing business?

Some people are so completely overwhelmed that they put off getting started for far too long.

Walt Disney put it simply like this:

“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.”

Of course he was not speaking about network marketing, but the principle still applies.

Why not make a list of strategies that you like to apply to your business, whether it be for retailing, sponsoring or coaching. Then take one single item and work on it immediately, until it gets done.

Sometimes even the simplest of changes have significant impact on your business and I always feel sorry when I see anyone taking to long to “get started.”

If you only learn one thing about network marketing, learn this!

The great Zig Ziglar said “If you help enough people get what they want, you can have everything you want”.

That is the fundamental truth of network marketing and of life in general. But it has to be sincere!

When you sponsor somebody into your business, help them to achieve the level of success they want. If it means you have to cut into your own plans, so be it.

All too often, people have the attitude of “right, you’re in my team now, what are you going to do to make me money”. How wrong can you be! People with this approach will quickly see their teams become un-motivated, unhappy with the business (and the network marketing industry in general - how often have you heard “I tried network marketing and it doesn’t work”!)

As a sponsor, it is your responsibility to take the other approach. “OK, I now have the responsibility to help you earn the incomes you want to make. I will give you whatever help I can to achieve this”.

Put your team before yourself. They deserve the lions share of your time. Make sure you have done everything you can for them before you things for yourself.

Guess what? If you take this approach and put your team before yourself, people become motivated, they see the strength of network marketing. They believe and trust the industry, they stay involved and active.

As a result, your income increases too.

Everybody wins.

Top Tips To Run Your Business Professionally.

It is no coincidence that the successful people in network marketing are the ones who run their networking businesses as a business.

Even if you only spend one hour a week on your network marketing business then that hour should be spent efficiently and effectively! There are plenty of books on Time Management. Grab some and learn to make the best use of your time.

Give yourself a quite place to run your business. If you are trying to speak to a prospect or a potential customer, it does not sound at all professional if the TV is on in the background, or kids are screaming. Make sure you have a quiet area to conduct your business  and make sure that your family know not to interrupt you!

It’s easy for friends and family to think that just because you work from home, you can be visited at will for a chat or a cuppa. Let your friends know your working hours and encourage them to visit OUTSIDE of these times.

Look professional. Jeans and T-shirts may be comfortable, but they do not give the appearance of professionalism. Smart trousers and a shirt & collar for the men and smart clothes for the women should be the order of the day when you are out and about. You should also ensure that you are well groomed - neat hair, no stubble (men!).

If you use your home phone, leave a professional sounded message on the answer-phone. So often I have phoned prospects and heard unspeakable messages on their answer-phones. While they may be amusing, professional they are not. I haven’t even bothered to leave messages for these prospects. If they cannot take such a simple thing seriously, I’m afraid they have no part in my business. Image what a customer would make of it! In the UK, you can even sign up for a FREE and very professional switchboard service with www.myfreeswitchboard.co.uk. I’m sure there will be similar services available around the globe for our international readers!
